Into the woods
These passed few days I have been showing my roommate Mike some sweet spots in our town. The area has so much offer and sometimes we take it for granted.
Wednesday I took him to Galbraith and it was such a good time. The weather was a happy medium and it was nice to just breathe some fresh air. The view point is a good one and all of the bike trails are so fun to wander around. We saw so many flowers on the sides of the trails and all of the leaves on the trees were glowing. I loved it. If there is any place to just be carefree it is the beach or in the woods. There is something about it I tell ya. There is no place like home :) .
Thursday we headed out to Chuckanut to hike Oyster Dome. Definitely one of my most favorite drives. I wish I had a motorcycle though, then it would be that much better. It didn't take us to long to hike to the top and once we got there it was nothing but pure bliss. The view is amazing. Mike was so stoked and it made me feel so happy to get to share such a beautiful spot. On our way back we hiked over to Blanchard to watch some hang gliders and lay in the sun for a while. I could have passed out but we ended up getting back on our feet and headed straight to the trail. We pretty much ran back down, it was hilarious actually. This hike was so needed.
Shortly after we got back to the car we went down to the Taylor Shellfish Farm and got some big oysters so we could bbq when we got back home. SOOOOO YUMMY. Once we got back into town we feasted and chilled outside in our big lawn. Life is good. I am so thankful to have a friend that can be spontaneous and just go with the flow. Thank you dude.

Feeling lost
Dang, I must say as of lately things have been kind of a roller coaster. I live my life day by day but I am not sure where life is really taking me at the moment. Trying not to get lost in my thoughts. I need to follow my heart. Sometimes it is hard to though...

Sail
I just want to say that lately I have been trying so hard to just get out there and do fun things. The weather has been so great and it is finally feeling like summer is just around the corner. This weekend I got invited to go sailing with my pal Ken. I can't even tell you how excited I was. The next day we got our groceries and all of the things we needed and took off. We were supposed to sail over to Cypress but ended up going to Lummi Island. I was still so happy :) . That feeling of being on a boat in the middle of the water is amazing. I seriously could not stop smiling. I so wish I could get a sailboat and learn everything. It was so rad to watch Ken. It was like second nature to him.
Once we got to the Island we cracked some beers and hiked around for about three hours. It was so much fun. I was in my element. Now all though I have been to Lummi Island by ferry, I have never got to sail there, or even see the other side of it - So this was amazing. There wasn't a house in site, there was only one other sailboat there, and it was soooo peaceful. No one around other than the birds and the trees. I dig it. We ended up finding some really sweet spots. Exploring makes me so happy.
Shortly after we hiked around we started collecting wood for a fire and food prepping for tin foil dinners. We drank and had good convo then paddled back for the boat and crashed out. I dreamt soooo crazy. I haven't slept on a sail boat in years. It was SOOOO peaceful. What a good time. The best time.
The next day we ended up making breakfast on the boat and then headed to Dot Island (most people call it that). We stayed barefoot and ran around this island to the most amazing beach spot! All that was missing is our friends. It was still such a wonderful time though. We made it back by sunset (which was like 9:15pm), packed up, and called it a night. I had my scooter to ride home and I seriously felt like such a bad ass with my huge pack with all my camping stuff hahaha...I just wish I was riding a freaking motorcycle home...Anyways my mind is wandering :) ...This weekend was epic. Thanks Ken!
