Laughton Glacier Hike

So I decided to take a tour with Packer and go to the Laughton Glacier. What I had to do is wake up supppppppper early and make my way to the train depot. Caught the first train at 740AM and I believe trained till mile post 14.1 . You get dropped off and there are three guides that will guide you on this hike. I had Leah, Kip, and Benji. To be honest I have no idea how long it even was. I was a bit disappointed that I came on this hike with tourists. I got stuck taking baby steps the whole way. Eventually the slower people made their way to the back so I was able to speed up (not by much, but a lot more) . The packer guides let you fix yourself a sanny and then give you these waste packs with so many treats. It ended up being a good day once I made it to the glacier. I still need to go back and do it on my own though, that way I can actually make it to the wall, as well as explore a bit more. All in all though, defiantly a good day!

Just want to say that I have met some pretty rad people here.. You all know who you are but for this blog I kind of just want to add some pics and give a little bit of credit to you for making my summer pretty amazing :) The peeps that I blogged about before besides Tay, Charles, and Nicol all kinda went their separate ways. We don't hang out anymore at all really..Once in a while we might but yeah..Things started to change. I started keeping to myself and hanging out with people outside of my company :). I felt as if I was on set anytime I walked in my house. People started acting like the freaking "Real World" show on MTV..I had to expand my horizons and meet new people. Which was the best idea I could have had :) So much more fun!! No worries, no problems, just life, and fun times!! Soooo yes, like I said before. You know who you are and I just want to say thank you guys..You rock!

Stephan ..You seriously make my days brighter because you seriously are the most cheerful person I have ever met! STAY THAT WAY. Please don't ever change for anyone. People don't call you "Tiger" for no reason ;) . 

Layla and Tom..Cutest couple ever. Layla you are insane! Insane in a good way though..You have so much energy when you drink haha. I dig "Drunk Layla" ! I am glad to have met you. Tom, I haven't got to really get to know you but I will say that you are one b.a.m.f. :)

Benji... Ohhh Benji..Words can't really describe him other than he is alwayssss so relaxed. He is the perfect description of procrastination. But.. He always seems to always make it work! Sooooo... Major kudos to him* He is crazy, fun, likes to hike, silly, always down to do something, and ya.. I dunno..I am glad I met him :) I will miss him when he leaves! But I hope to hang out with him back in Washington with Brendan!!

My girl Nicol :) She is still my girl ;)..She will be coming home with me to Washington for a bit, so excited!

Brendan.. I love me some Brendan!! He is the sweetest of the sweets :) I love hanging out with him. Whether it is going out, camping, at a fire, hiking, ANYTHING. I love his company. Such a little cutie. He is sooo funny when he has a few drinks. As well as he keeps Benji from laying around all day. Brendan is super active and is always doing something! Love this guy! Hope to see him again one day back home in WA!

 Then there is Sturgil... Sterling is his real name.. BUT he is just the sweetest (just like Brendan) and very informative! Very very very smart guy. I don't get to hang out with him to much but when I do I have a great time. Dancing, talking, camping, etc.. Sturgil is awesome :) Just like this picture! So cute..

"Wash crew" boys  are seriously the coolest cats of all time. I have so much respect for them. I hope to keep in good contact with them and stay pals. You guys are awesome! My favorites!

Sarah.. She is one of my roomies and she seriously just does her own thing. I love it. I love hangin with her because she seriously does not give a crap about anything. She is literally "the man" haha  she gets so gnarly and is always taking it to the next level. She is so rad! Love you Sarah!

Bethany ..Oh how I love this chick! Most down to earth chick. Always so happy and has a smile on her face. She cracks me up! As well as I love how she is always down to go camping! Love this chick!

It is not the destination, it is the journey along the way. . .

Lately I have been thinking a lot about life. Being in Alaska has opened my eyes so much. It has made me grow up and learn to live with out someone always taking care of me. My whole life I have had my mother and my bro to be there and no matter what the situation was I could count on them. Till this day it is like that with my mother, but being so far away I can't really rely on her. It is now up to me to really do what I want to do. It is up to me to put myself in situations that are good for myself..or bad.. A few weeks ago I left my house and went on a little hike and camped out by myself. It felt sooooo good. Just thinking about a lot of things. My brother, my life, my fam, where I am at in life, what I need to do, what do I want to do, soooo many thoughts. 


What I am starting to realize is that YOU are all that you have got outside of everything and everyone else. You need to look to the sky and trees to just feel it all out and find what you are here for. Whether it is you and that higher being, you and yourself, it is going to be only you left. You make friends and have family of course...Family is forever. Make sure to get to know people and the ones you love, don't take them for granted. Make due with what you have, even if you don't feel like you have much. I truly have been looking at life in a whole new perspective ever since my brother passed away. You can run from so much but no matter what it will always be there. 


Now I am here. Skagway, Alaska. I wanted to come to Alaska to take a break, breathe, and just live my life the way I want to. Kind of take a moment and just get a way for a little bit. Now my time here is almost up so I have been trying to focus on what I am here for...and that is nature. It makes me feel so alive. I can't explain how nature makes me feel. Seeing these mountains, smelling this crisp cold air, hiking, exploring, determined to find what makes your heart beat harder. It is here. I love Alaska..I love how it is making me feel and I love just thinking. It has made me see how other people live life, how there are so many god damn people in this world but yet YOU are truly the one that can only make yourself happy. If you are not happy with yourself you better fix whatever is making you unhappy or you will go down a unhappy man. I have been working so much on what makes me happy, getting to know myself, and cherishing all of every moment. I can not wait for my next adventure. It's like now that I have started..I don't think I want to stop. Exploring and pondering about life is amazing. I can truly say, I have this emptiness inside bc of my bro, but I am sooooo happy about what I am becoming and what I am going to do. It has been a good year so far. I am truly blessed with all that has come to me. I am learning so much about life, living life, and no matter what I do, I know I will be ok.

International Falls Hike

It took us an hour and a half to make our way to the other side. It was amazing. My friends Ben and Brendan took me with them to do this.

So what you do is:  Drive about 20 min up the pass, park, walk down some steep hill, take ur shoes off and cross a creek (freezing!), then hike up for about an hour and a half.

It was by far my favorite hike so far! Super simple, so many amazing views along the way, and once we reached what we were looking for..There were no words for it. Made me feel so alive. Made me feel so happy to be here in the world. Things like this makes me want to keep on keeping on. Things like this make me wish my bro were still around. But everything will be alright. I will live on for him and keep trekking ;)
