Today I got to explore a little more and I can finally say that I am happy here! I have been having fun but nothing has won me over yet. I can truly say that I like Utah :) ! It is beautiful!! So today I went right out of Park City through Gaurdsman Pass out Brighton Ski Resort & Solitude Ski Resort. From there we went out through this amazing backroad that took us to Salt Lake Valley and from there we headed out to Snowbird Ski Resort and Alta Ski Resort. All that I can say is WOW. I felt so trapped in Park City. As if there wasn't anything else I could really look at other then the town itself, Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley Ski Resort, and Canyons Ski Resort. Now don't get me wrong, it is beautiful. I just miss the color green, larger mountains, rock, streams, creeks, river, lakes, and pretty much more nature. I want something to make me feel alive, something HUGE. I know we are here at about 7,000 foot elevation already but I just wanted something to look to other than hills. Anytime I get out of Park City I am so happy. Zion National Park, Mirror Lake, etc. But today was breathtaking. I felt so alive again.
I got to see what else was out there and it made me feel so happy. Tomorrow I am going back out and taking pictures and hiking (after work). As well as this weekend I am going backpacking. There is so many spots to explore! Only problem is that a few of the roads close up in the winter so I have to do it a.s.a.p.
Some things that I noticed that made me so happy were the huge mountains surrounding me, the rock, the beautiful fall colors as if someone planted certain colored trees individually, the stream that made its way next to the road, knowing that that was where park city actually got their water, hiking trails, and how crisp the air was. I can tell winter is just around the corner. It was hard to go to Utah after being in Alaska all summer and then of course being from Washington. I am from where there is the ocean and lots of green. Seeing all of these new mountains and resorts here today, makes me so happy. It truly reminded me again of why I came to Utah. And that is the snow. I can not WAIT to snowboard.
